Well, it happened, folks. We are now officially international playwrights! Our play The Marriedest One of All is going to be running in August in beautiful Nova Scotia as part of Taboo Theatre’s “Taboo Fairytales” play festival. We were one of 3 plays picked out of nearly 200 submissions! We don’t know the exact date yet, but they have told us it will most likely take place in the first week of August. We’re planning on attending, so if you’re up that way, stop by and say “Eh!”, OK?
We’d like to give a big thank you to the people who run the Snowdance Comedy Play festival in Racine, WI. They ran our comedy play Odd Scouts Out for 26 sold-out performances! Kudos to the Over Our Head Players for their amazing job.
Now we get to set our sights on a new play festival. Our comedy short Edward’s Closet will be playing at the Take Ten Festival in New York, New York (put on by Between Us Productions). It runs April 25 – May 1!
Magicland had an amazing month! We won best webseries at the Direct Monthly Online Film Festival, and we just received this swell trophy for 2nd Place in the Webseries category from the 12-Month Festival in Romania! (We repeat…ROMANIA!)
We won’t hear from any new festivals for a few weeks, and Season 2 is still months away, but we are doing a little filming with Uncle Frank this weekend. What will come out of it? Stay tuned to the Magicland page in the next few weeks to check it out!
If you happen to be near Racine, WI, the Snowdance 10-Minute Comedy Play Festival starts next week and runs through the month of February! Our play Odd Scouts Out is one of the 10 plays (out of 275 submitted) selected to be in the festival, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it! And, hey, you may see us out there. Stranger things have happened in Wisconsin. (Granted, most of those things involve cheese, the Packers or cream puffs.)
Magicland is an official selection of its first overseas festival. We’re pleased to say it’s part of the 12 Month Festival in Cluj-Napoca, Romania!
